Spot Prices

The Spot Price is the current market price of the actual physical commodity (also called cash price). Current delivery price of a commodity traded in the spot market, in which goods are sold for cash and delivered immediately. Antithesis of futures price. If you want to see the spot price for a particular symbol, just type the
{root}-Y.{exchange}.

Not every symbol has a spot price. Often people refer to the Spot month as the nearest delivery month on a futures contract.
