What's in Version 16.0.0?

Web Services version 16.0.0 is a major release. Some features are not backwards compatible. You will need to recompile your client code for version 15.0.0.

Web services version 16.0.0 will be available in sandbox as well as in production. First experiment with the new version in the sandbox, make necessary changes to your client application, and then test your implementation. When you are satisfied with the results, move your client application to production.

New Features and Enhancements

This section summarizes the new features and enhancements in Web Services version 16.0.0.

Secure Ads

Web Services v16.0.0 includes enhancements to ensure that additional ad types (specifically image, Flash, customizable Flash, and custom HTML ads) are served securely, that all components of ads are secure, and that rotational ads are evaluated on an ongoing basis for secure compliance. Secure video ads are not included as part of the update. For more information, please see Creative Services FAQ.

Network Template

Web Services v16.0.0 includes enhancements to allow users to add impression URLs while creating ads using network templates. For more information, please see TemplateVariableType data object.

What's in Version 15.0.0?

Web Services version 15.0.0 is a major release. Some features are not backwards compatible. You will need to recompile your client code for version 14.0.0.

Web services version 15.0.0 will be available in sandbox as well as in production. Deprecation Notice

Deprecation of Standard Segments

Web Services includes two classification of audience segments: Standard and Custom. Standard segments are being deprecated and a single list of segments that you can use is being introduced. All standard segments are now available under custom segments. Although standard segments are still available, we strongly recommend that you use custom segments instead of standard segments.

Deprecation of Yahoo! Premium Behavioral Segments

Web Services includes two classification of audience behaviors: Yahoo! Premium Segments and Audience Segments. The Yahoo! Premium Behavioral segments are being deprecated and a single list of segments that you can use is being introduced. All Yahoo! Premium Behavioral segments are now available under audience segments. Please ensure that all audience segment pricing and related entries are setup correctly and are consistent with your business needs.

New Features and Enhancements

This section summarizes the new features and enhancements in Web Services version 15.0.0.

Additional Impression Tracking URLs

Web Services v15.0.0 includes support for specifying up to 10 impression tracking URLs for all video ad types. The previous limit was 3. This increase applies to native video only; it does not apply to third-party video ads. For more information, see Creative Services FAQ.

Network Rate Cards

Web Services v15.0.0 adds support for network level rate cards. All RateCardService operations, except those associated with default rate card, are available to the Network User. For more information, see RateCardService.

Deprecation of CustomSegmentService API

CustomSegmentService API has been deprecated. The CustomSegmentService methods and data objects are no longer available for use.

Dynamic Mobile Ads

Web Services v15.0.0 includes support for dynamic third-party asset URLs in native mobile image ads. To create a standard size mobile image ad with third party dynamic URL, you must specify the height and width of the image ad. For more information, see Creative Services FAQ.
