You fill out a form that changes your password. The location of the form is https://edit.yahoo.com/config/change_pw.
Before You Begin
Please Note: To better protect your account, make sure that your password is easy for you to remember although impossible for others to guess. Never use a password you have used in the past, and do not share your password with anyone. Your new password must be a minimum of six characters long. We recommend a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers. The password box is case-sensitive, that is, it can tell the difference between CASE and case, for example, and we recommend that you create your new password to take advantage of that case sensitivity.

Procedure
Follow these steps to change your password.
- Click here. If Yahoo! asks you to sign in, sign in with your current Yahoo! ID and password. A page opens with a form headed Change your Yahoo! Password.
- Enter your current password in the first box of the form.
- Create your new password in the second box.
- Enter your new password in the third box to confirm it.
- Click Save. If all goes well, a page opens with the message You have successfully chosen a new Password. You might see the message Your new password entries did not match. In that case, go to step 2 and try again.
- Click Continue. A page opens headed Account Sign-in Settings.
- Click Continue. A sign-in page opens.
- Enter your new password and click Sign In. A page opens with your account information. You have successfully used your new password.
Now you can navigate to your Yahoo! services. Use the links and icons at the top of the page.
Your Yahoo! password will always apply to your entire Yahoo! account. This means that it will be valid not only for Yahoo! Mail but also for Yahoo!'s other personalized services which include the following:
- Yahoo! Messenger
- Yahoo! Chat
- My Yahoo!
- Yahoo! Finance
