Yahoo! Social Bar appears as a series of modules on and around Yahoo! websites: "Your Friends’ Activity," "Your Activity", "Most Popular" and "News For You".

Your Friends’ Activity

The "Your Friends’ Activity" module displays thumbnails of your Facebook friends who have previously shared what they were reading or watching. Clicking on one of your friends' thumbnail displays a drop-down menu listing links to articles and videos that your friend has recently read and how long ago they read it. You can use the blue arrows in the upper-right of this module to scroll through additional pages of friends.

Note: you will need to join Yahoo! Social Bar to see your friends' full activity list.

Your Activity

Your Activity is located to the upper-right of Yahoo! articles. Clicking Your Activity lists the articles and videos you have recently viewed and are sharing with friends. You can remove any entries from this list by clicking the X button to the right of the link. This removes the article or video from your Facebook and Yahoo! feeds, and your friends will no longer be able to see that you have viewed it on either network.

You can enable or disable sharing by selecting On or Off under the "Social" drop-down menu. Clicking Options allows you to view and set preferences for Yahoo! Social Bar.

Most Popular

The Most Popular module is located on the top of Yahoo! homepages and articles. This module displays the top ten most shared articles or videos currently on Yahoo!. You can use the arrows to the upper-right of this module to view different entries in the list.

News for You

To the right of the article, the "News for You" modules lists additional articles that you may find interesting based on you and your friends’ activity. If we suggest an article or video to you based on your friends' activity, you will see the friend’s name displayed below the article or video.
