Let Yahoo! Calendar notify you when an event is coming up. You can use Yahoo! Calendar to set a reminder!

On the "Add or Edit Event" page, choose WHEN and HOW you'd like to be reminded. You can choose to be reminded twice, if you wish. The Yahoo! Calendar allows you to set two separate reminders anywhere from 5 minutes to 14 days before the event.

Send reminders to an email address of your choice, your mobile device, or Yahoo! Messenger.

Email Reminders

In the "Reminders" area:

  • Select Send Reminders.
  • Check the box beside Email, and from the pull-down menu, select the email address where you would like to receive reminders.
  • Click Save.

Mobile Device Reminders

Please make sure that you have registered your device with Yahoo! Mobile.

  • When that's done, all you need to do is check the box beside Mobile.

Yahoo! Messenger Reminders

First, make sure you have the latest Windows version of Yahoo! Messenger.

  • Caution: you will not be able to receive Calendar reminders via Yahoo! Messenger for the Web (the no-download-required version of Yahoo! Messenger).
  • Make sure you use the same Yahoo! ID to sign in to both Yahoo! Calendar and Yahoo! Messenger.
  • Important: Please make sure that you are logged in to Yahoo! Messenger at the time you have selected to receive the reminder.

A reminder appears as a small Yahoo! Messenger pop-up window. To change the time at which you will receive your reminder, or to turn the reminder on or off, click the event in your Yahoo! Calendar and scroll down to the "Reminders" section.

Note: If you use one type of reminder frequently, go to the Reminder Options page and set the frequently used reminder as your default.
