Your overall rotisserie score is the sum of your rotisserie ranking in each category. Your ranking in each category is based on cumulative season stats and not any single-day accumulation of stats.
So, if you are in a 12-team league and you have the most home runs in your league, you will have 12 rotisserie points in that category. If, when the current day's totals are added to your season totals, you are passed by two teams in the home run category, you will fall to a score of 10 rotisserie points in that category (because you now have the third-most in the league for the entire season).
If, on any given day, you lose ground (points) in more categories than you gain ground (points), your overall rotisserie score will be lower the following day.
