You can save an image of your avatar and use it on web pages, blogs, email, mobile phones, and instant messaging programs.
On the Download Your Avatar page, you can choose your full avatar or just the face. For both sizes, you can select a .jpg or .png image. The .jpg format is very common and can be used on any web page or browser. The .png format is not quite as common.
Click one of the "Download" buttons to get the size and format you want. Your computer will prompt you to save the avatar to your hard drive.
Anywhere you can put a .jpg or .png image, you can put your avatar.
Web Pages and BlogsFirst, upload the avatar from your computer to your web host or blogging service. Then use HTML code like this on your page:
<img src="avt_yourYahoo!ID_medium.jpg">
with your actual path and file name to display your avatar on the page.
EmailWhen you compose an email message, add your avatar as an attachment. Depending on the type of email your friends use, they may see it directly in the email or they can view it in a web browser.
If you and your friends use Yahoo! Mail's PhotoMail Beta, you can display a thumbnail image of your avatar right in the email message. The full image will be stored in your Yahoo! Photos account, so your friends can see it there. Image attachments won't clog up their email inboxes.
Mobile PhonesMany mobile phones can display .jpg images as wallpaper or screensavers. Follow your phone's instructions to upload your avatar from your computer. You'll need to make sure you have space in your phone's memory for the image. Also, your wireless carrier may charge for the data transfer.
Instant MessagingEven if you use a program other than Yahoo! Messenger, you can still show your avatar. Go to the program's Preferences and look for the Buddy Icon or Expressions setting. Then upload your avatar from your computer's hard drive.
