How do I use the Avatar Preview Window?

The My Avatar page is divided into two parts: the Preview Window and the Catalog.

The Preview Window, found on the left side of the screen, displays your avatar. Select your expressions (neutral, smile, laugh, sad, angry) by clicking the appropriate emoticon above the display window.

Basic Controls

Pan and Zoom

"Zoom" focuses, or "zooms in," on the avatar. This lets you see your avatar in more detail. You can zoom in by moving the zoom slider control to the right or by clicking the "+" icon.

You can "zoom out" by moving the slider control to the left or by clicking the "-" icon. To revert to the full-body shot of the avatar, click the "Return" button.

You can also zoom in directly to your avatar's face by using the "Zoom to Face" button.

When zoomed in, "Pan" shifts your view of the avatar within the Preview Window. Use the buttons in the round control pad to move up, down, left, and right. Panning is disabled when in the full-body view.

Save and Clear

"Save" saves the changes you've made to your avatar. When you've clicked the "Save" button, your avatar keeps this look until you make and save more changes.

"Clear" takes your avatar back to its last saved appearance.

"What I'm trying on" and "What I'm wearing"

The "What I'm trying on" list shows the changes you've made to your avatar since you last saved it.

The "What I'm wearing" list shows all the items that you selected for your avatar and saved in the last round of changes.

Each item in the two lists above has a checkbox next to it. You can deselect an item by unchecking the checkbox. You can toggle between items by checking and unchecking the boxes in the "What I'm trying on" and "What I'm wearing" lists before you save changes.
