There are three main ways to search for a used car on Yahoo! Autos. Each path takes you to search results. From there you can click any listings to see more detail. The main search entry points are:

  1. From the Yahoo! Autos home page you can select a make in the used car module of this page, enter your ZIP code and you will be taken directly to a list available cars. You can then modify that search using the "Modify this Search" box to the right of the listings. You can also change a sort order by simply clicking the column heading (e.g., price)
  2. From the Yahoo! Autos home page click the used cars tab. This takes you to the Used Car home page. From there you can use the "Find a Used Car" area to start your search. Enter a make, model, and ZIP and click the "Search" button. You will be taken to a search results. These results can then be modified using the "Modify this Search" box to the right of the listings.
  3. From the Yahoo! Autos home page click the Used Cars tab. Click the sub tab for "Find a Car." This page allows you to search for a car by entering make, model, ZIP, and clicking the "Search" button. This takes you to a search results page. These results can then be modified using the "Modify this Search" box to the right of the listings.

At any point in your search you can click the link under make and model to go directly to a detailed description of a vehicle. This page displays more complete information about the vehicle. You can read the seller's description, asking price, view photos, and get seller contact information. We also provide an email form on this page to help you get directly in contact with the seller to ask more questions or to make an offer.

The detail page might also contain a vehicle information number or VIN. With that information you can run a vehicle history report (VHR) to learn about more about that car's history. Carfax, our VHR partner, provides a record check for free, but for detailed information on these records you must purchase a VHR.

If you do not find the car that you are looking for you can set up an alert by going to My AutoCenter. There you can set up an alert so that you will receive emails when a car you are interested in gets listed on our site.
