A nickname is a non-unique name used to represent you on Yahoo! 360° and, if you choose, in other areas of Yahoo!. Since a nickname is non-unique, it allows you to hide your Yahoo! ID from those viewing your page. Since this is what others will see when they visit your page or see you on other areas of Yahoo! 360°, we require you to have a nickname. The default nickname we create for you is your first name and the first initial of your last name.

You can change your nickname at any time by clicking "Home" at the top of the page, and then clicking "Change This" under your nickname on the left.
