    Mac OS X Mail

    Note: The instructions in this article are for version 2.1.1 of the Mac OS X Mail program. Instructions for other versions may differ slightly.

    To configure your POP settings for the Mail program on the Macintosh:
    1. Open up Mail. If an account wizard does not launch automatically, click "File" and select "Add Account."
    2. Under General Information, enter the following information:
      • Account Type: POP.
      • Account Description: Enter a description for this email address.
      • Full Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
      • Email Address: Enter your full AT&T Yahoo Business Email address (for example, "user@widgetdesigns.com").
    3. Click "Continue" and enter the following information:
      • Incoming Mail Server: pop.bizmail.yahoo.com
      • User Name: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email address.
      • Password: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email password.
    4. Click "Continue" and fill out the "Incoming Mail Security" page:
      • Check the box next to "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)."
      • From the Authentication dropdown, select "Password."
    5. Click continue and fill out the following information on the Outgoing Mail Server page:
      • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
      • Check the box next to "Use Authentication."
      • Username: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email address.
      • Password: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email password.
    6. Click "Continue" and fill out the "Outgoing Mail Security" page:
      • From the Authentication dropdown, select "Password."
    7. Click "Continue" and you should receive confirmation that the account was created.
    8. Click on the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences."
    9. Select the correct account on the left and select the correct outgoing server in the dropdown at the bottom.
    10. Click the "Server Settings" button.
    11. Enter/verify the following settings:
      • Server Port: 465
      • Check the box next to "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)."
      • Authentication: Password
      • User Name: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email address.
      • Password: Enter your AT&T Yahoo Business Email password.
    12. Click OK and select the Advanced tab.
    13. Enter/verify the following settings:
      • Port: 995.
      • Check the box next to "Use Secure Sockets Layer."
      • Authentication: Password.
    14. If you want to leave a copy of your email on the server, uncheck the box "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message."

    To control deletion of messages from the AT&T Yahoo Business Email server, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. Select the correct account on the left and click the "Advanced" tab.
    3. To leave messages on the server, uncheck the box "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message."
