I gave someone an email address, and I know the user activated the address. But my Email Control Panel is still showing the user as pending. Why?

There could be a couple reasons:

    1. If the user has a POP-only email address — i.e., one he or she accesses exclusively from a desktop email program — we update the activation status only once a day. If the status is showing as pending, return to the Email Control Panel the following day to see if it's been updated.

    2. Although your friend or employee might have received your email or print invitation, the user must still take a few steps to activate the email address, and thus change his or her status to "Active" on your Email Control Panel.

      • If the user has a POP and Yahoo! email address, he or she must click the account setup link in the invitation, then accept our Terms of Service. As soon as the user does this, the email address will be active. Learn more.

      • If the user has a POP-only address — i.e., one he or she will access exclusively via a desktop mail program — the user must configure this program with the POP/SMTP settings in the invitation, and then log in to check the Business Mail Account (this is the most important step). Learn more.

If the user follows these steps after receiving the invitation, the Email Control Panel status will update to Active. If the user has any questions, he or she can visit our user resource center.
