Campaign Details

Use the Campaign Details page to view a list of all ad groups for the selected campaign. You can view campaign settings and make changes to one or more ad groups in the Campaign Details page.

Understanding Campaign Status

The campaign's status appears near the top of the Campaign Details page, showing the campaign's current status information and whether or not the campaign is active.

Note: If a campaign is not active, then the title in the breadcrumb (the navigation path below the tabs at the top of the screen) appears in red text.

Viewing Alerts

Select the View Alerts link to open the Alerts dialog box. In the Alerts dialog box, select the View All link to view all alerts in your account, or use the dropdown menu to select the type of alert to view. Select any alert in the Alerts dialog box to view detailed alert information and to take any necessary action.

Working with Campaigns

Downloading a Campaign

To download a campaign:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Click the Download Campaigns link. The File Download dialog opens.

  3. Click the Save button to save the file to your computer.

  4. Use a spreadsheet program to view and edit the campaign spreadsheet.

Changing Campaign Settings

In the Campaign Details page, click the Campaign Settings button to open the Campaign Settings page. This page contains the following information:

  • Delete Campaign – Delete this campaign.

  • Campaign General Information – Campaign name, status, and watch list status.

  • Campaign Budget and Schedule – Campaign budget, schedule, and optimisation (on or off).

  • Campaign Optimisation Guidelines – Campaign optimisation guidelines and bid limits.

  • Campaign Geo-Targeting – Campaign geo-targeting preferences. By default, your ads may be displayed within your entire market.

  • Campaign Tactic Settings – Campaign Sponsored Search status and Content Match status and match type (standard or advanced).

Note: The Campaign Optimisation Guidelines panel is only displayed if campaign optimisation is available for your account.

The Campaign Settings button also has a menu that allows you to select a topic and edit the settings directly. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Campaign Settings button to open the Campaign Settings menu.

Viewing and Changing the Campaign Daily Spending Limit

If campaign optimisation is Off for the campaign, you may set a campaign daily spending limit. View your campaign daily spending limit on the Campaign Details page in the Performance panel. Select the Campaign Daily Spending Limit link to make changes.

Note: You may be charged up to 10% above your campaign daily spending limit.

Viewing and Changing the Campaign Monthly Budget

If campaign optimisation is On for the campaign, you may set a campaign monthly budget. View your campaign monthly budget on the Campaign Details page in the Performance panel. Select the Campaign Monthly Budget link to make changes.

Note: You may be charged up to 10% above your campaign monthly budget. However, charges that exceed your campaign monthly budget by more than 10% may be eligible for a refund.

Viewing and Changing the Campaign Schedule

Your campaign start and end dates are displayed on the Campaign Details page in the Performance panel. Select the start or end date link to change the campaign schedule.

Changing Campaign Optimisation Settings

Campaign optimisation status is displayed on the Campaign Details page in the Performance panel. Select the Campaign Optimisation link to turn campaign optimisation on or off.

Note: Your bid limits are calculated once you turn campaign optimisation on. You will see a message in the Campaign Optimisation field informing you that optimisation calculations are in progress. Once all calculations are complete, campaign optimisation will be set to On.

Setting Date Ranges

To set a date range:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the left calendar icon. The Select Date dialog box opens.

  4. Select a start and end date.

  5. Click Apply.

The dates you selected are applied to the Campaign Details page. The ad group statistics in the table and the campaign performance graph will only display data within the selected date range.

Viewing Performance Graphs

To view a performance graph:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Set the graph date range using the calendar icons.

  4. Select the type of graph to view from the Graph dropdown list. You may view the following graphs:

    • Impressions

    • Clicks

    • Conversions

    • Revenue

    • Cost

Working with Ad Groups

Creating Ad Groups

Click the Create Ad Group link to create a new ad group within the selected campaign. Follow the instructions on the Create Ad Group page.

Searching for Ad Groups

To search for an ad group within your campaign:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Enter all or part of an ad group name in the search box.

  4. Click the Search button to retrieve results. The ad group search results will display all ad groups that contain your search term in the ad group name.

  5. In the table, click the column name in any column header to sort by that statistic.

  6. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Search Button.

  7. Select Clear to return to the default ad group list.

Searching for Ad Groups with Advanced Search

To search for an ad group within your campaign using advanced search:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Search Button.

  4. Select Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  5. Enter criteria for your search (you can enter as many advanced search criteria as you wish).

  6. Click the Search button to retrieve your ad group search results.

Note: Click the column name in any column header to sort your search results by that statistic.

Advanced Search Examples

To search for all ad groups with fewer than 1,000 impressions whose name starts with "2006":

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Search Button.

  4. Select Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  5. Select Begins with from the Ad Group Name dropdown menu and enter the word 2006 in the Ad Name field.

  6. In the Impressions From field, enter 0.

  7. In the Impressions To field, enter 1000.

  8. Click the Search button.

To search for all Sponsored Search Only ad groups:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens

  3. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Search Button.

  4. Select Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  5. Select tactic Sponsored Search Only.

  6. Click the Search button.

To search for any ad group in a campaign that is "Off":

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Search Button.

  4. Select Advanced Search. The Advanced Search dialog box opens.

  5. Select the Ad Group Status Off.

  6. Click the Search button.

Editing Ad Group Status

To edit ad group status:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups to edit.

  4. Click the Edit Status button. The Edit Ad Group Status dialog box opens.

  5. In the Ad Group Status field, select On or Off.

  6. Click Submit to apply your changes.

Using the Watch List

To add or remove ad groups from a watch list:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify the campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups to add or remove.

  4. Click the Edit Watch List button. The Edit Watch List dialog box opens.

  5. In the Watch Selected Ad Groups field, select Yes or No.

  6. Click Submit to apply your changes.

Setting Ad Group Bids

If campaign optimisation is off, you can set an ad group bid. The bid will apply to the keywords in the selected ad groups. Your bid is the maximum amount you are willing to pay each time your ad is clicked.

To set an ad group bid for one or more ad groups:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign with optimisation off and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups you would like to update.

  4. Click the Bid button. The Set a Bid dialog box opens.

  5. In the Set a Bid dialog box, you can specify an ad group bid for Sponsored Search, Content Match, or both.

    • For Sponsored Search, specify an ad group bid. This will serve as the default bid for Sponsored Search keywords in your ad group.

    • For Content Match, specify an ad group bid.

  6. Click the Submit button to apply the new bids to the selected ad groups.

To edit the Sponsored Search ad group default bid:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign with the tactic Sponsored Search and with optimisation off.

  3. Click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  4. In the Ad Group table, identify an ad group with the tactic Sponsored Search.

  5. Select the SS Bid link in the table that corresponds to that ad group. The Set a Bid dialog box opens.

  6. Specify the default bid for the Sponsored Search keywords in that ad group.

  7. Click the Submit button to apply the new Sponsored Search ad group bid.

To edit the Content Match ad group bid:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign with the tactic Content Match and with optimisation off.

  3. Click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  4. In the Ad Group table, identify an ad group with the tactic Content Match.

  5. Select the CM Bid link in the table that corresponds to that ad group. The Set a Bid dialog box opens.

  6. Specify the default bid for the Content Match keywords in that ad group.

  7. Click the Submit button to apply the new Content Match ad group bid.

Setting Ad Group Bid Limits

If campaign optimisation is on, you can set ad group bid limits.

To set an ad group bid limit:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign with optimisation on and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups you would like to update.

  4. Click the Bid button. The Set a Bid dialog box opens.

  5. Set a bid limit for Sponsored Search, Content Match, or both.

    • For Sponsored Search, you can either use the default bid limit that you set for the campaign or you can specify a custom bid limit for the ad group.

    • For Content Match, you can either use the default bid limit that you set for the campaign or you can specify a custom bid limit for the ad group.

  6. Click the Submit button to apply the new bids to your ad groups.

Changing the Optimize Ad Display Setting

When Sponsored Search Advanced match type is used, you can set Optimize Ad Display to Yes so that the ads displayed for each keyword in your ad group can be rotated based on click-through rate.

To change the Optimize Ad Display setting:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups to edit.

  4. Click the Optimize Ads button. The Optimize Ad Display dialog box opens.

  5. Select Yes or No.

  6. Click the Submit button.

Deleting Ad Groups

To delete ad groups:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the ad groups to delete.

  4. Click the Delete button. The Delete Ad Group dialog box opens.

  5. Select Yes to delete your ad groups. Your selected ad groups will be deleted.
