Optimising for a Business Objective Target

To optimise for a business objective target:

    1. Select a campaign.
    2. If Campaign Optimisation is on, click the down arrow to the right of the Campaign Settings button and select “Optimisation Guidelines”.
    3. If Campaign Optimisation is off, click here to learn how to turn it on.
    4. In the Optimisation Type field, select “Business Objective Target”.
    5. In the Business Objective Metric field, select the performance measure that you want the optimiser to use.
    6. In the Business Objective Target Value field, set a value that reflects what you want the optimiser to try to reach for your chosen metric.
    7. Define the Budget Allowance. This is the additional amount that the optimizer can spend above your campaign monthly budget to help you achieve your performance goals (that is, the business objective metric and target value). You can use it one of these ways:

      1. To optimise your monthly budget with no additional spend, select “None”.
      2. To allow the optimiser to spend more than your monthly budget up to a specified amount, select “Percentage of Budget”, then enter the allowed percentage increase.
      3. To allow the optimiser to continue spending above your monthly budget without limitation, select “No Limit”.
      4. If you want your ad to be positioned with a minimum ranking, check “Preferred Minimum Position” and enter the minimum rank you wish to achieve. For example, if you want your ad to appear as one of the top three listings in the results, specify 3.

    8. If you want your ad placed with a given rank or higher, check the “Set a preferred minimum position” box and enter the value for the lowest rank you want. For example, if you want your ad to appear as one of the top three listings in the results, specify 3.
    9. Select the Bid Limit Headroom percentage, which defines the amount the optimiser adds to a current bid to set an initial or revised bid limit.
    10. Optionally, set a Campaign Bid Limit.
    11. Click “Save Changes”.
