Can I listen to Yahoo! LAUNCHcast on my home stereo?

Hooking up Yahoo! LAUNCHcast to your home stereo system is easy. Just follow the steps below.

In order to get started you will need:

    1. A personal computer with a sound card with a stereo speaker output jack.
    2. A home stereo with available stereo input jacks.
    3. A cable that connects your computer's sound card to your stereo system. For most systems, a 1/8" mini jack-to-RCA plugs Y adapter cable will do the trick. The length will depend on how far your computer is to your speakers. Your local electronics retailers can likely help if you need it.

In order to connect you will need to do the following:

    1. Turn off your computer and your stereo receiver. This is for safety reasons.
    2. Plug the single end of the Y adapter into the computer's sound card speaker jack. This is the same jack where you would normally plug in computer speakers or headphones.
    3. Next, locate available input jacks on the back of your stereo system where you can plug in the RCA ends of the cable. We recommend against using the Phono jacks, which can cause static.
    4. Match the coloured plugs of the cable to the jacks in the back of your receiver and connect.
    5. Now turn on your computer and stereo receiver.
    6. On your stereo receiver, select the mode where you connected the audio cable.
    7. Make sure you're connected to the Internet and start your Yahoo! Launchcast Player. Adjust the volume as necessary on both the computer and the stereo system.
