    Reinstall Windows Media Player Software

A number of our users have experienced connection issues after performing an update to the Windows Media Player software. In many of these situations, a full reinstallation of the application from the Microsoft web site as described below has corrected the problem. Please let us know if it does not in your case.

    1. Go to the Microsoft Windows Media Player download page.
    2. From the pull-down menu, select the version that corresponds to your operating system, then click the "Download Now" button. Note: Do not select any version labelled "BETA."
    3. In the File Download dialogue box, select "Save this program to disk," and then click "OK."
    4. You will now see a "Save As" window. Save the file on the desktop, and do not change the name of the file.
    5. Depending on your modem speed, the download time will vary. Make note of the file name so you can find the file after the download is finished.
    6. When the download is done, you are ready to install the player. Close all your applications before starting the installation.
    7. Look for the installation file on your desktop, and double-click it to begin.
    8. When the security warning appears, click "Yes" to continue installing.
    9. The program will display an End User Licence Agreement. Click "Yes" if you agree to comply.
    10. After installing the initial program files, specify your Internet connection speed. Choose between 14.4K, 19.2K, 28.8K, 56K modem/ISDN, 112K modem/dual-ISDN, T1/LAN, or unknown/other. If you do not know your connection speed, ask your network administrator or refer to your modem documentation.
