A quote is the current price of a company's stock on a particular stock exchange. Yahoo! Finance quote pages show you the last trade price (delayed up to 20 minutes), the change from the previous day's market close, and many other details about the company's shares performance.

From a quote page you will also have links to:

  • historical prices: tables showing the stock's performance over a date range specified by you.
  • charts: graphical representations of the stock's performance, and comparisons with other stocks or other exchanges.
  • Plus headlines, technical details, messageboard links, and profiles of the quoted company.

All quotes are indexed by their ticker symbol - the standard abbreviation for that stock and the exchange that it is listed on. The ticker symbol for a stock is shown on its quotes page in brackets beside the company name.

To find a quote for a company, enter the comapny name or the ticker symbol into the Get Quote field at the top of every Yahoo! Finance page. Or click here.
