You can use the Calendar Sharing feature within Yahoo! Calendar to share your calendar with others. To do so, follow these steps:
- Ensure that you are signed in to your account.
- Click the "Calendar Options" link on the right side of your calendar page.
- Click the "Sharing" link.
- Select your sharing options. There are four sharing options available:
- "No one can view my calendar": By selecting this option, the calendar will not be visible by anyone.
- "Friends can view my calendar; Special Friends can also modify my calendar": By selecting this option, only your Yahoo! member friends can view the calendar after signing in to their own account, using the Yahoo! ID that is specified on the list. Special Friends (Yahoo! member) can view and modify your calendar. Special Friends
IDs are in green text with a star.
- "Anyone can view my calendar": By selecting this option, any person (Yahoo! or non-Yahoo! member) who goes to your public URL can see events that are set as public.
- "Anyone can view my calendar; Special Friends can also modify my calendar": By selecting this option, any person (Yahoo! or non-Yahoo! member) who goes to your public URL can see events that are set as public. Special Friends (Yahoo! member) can view and modify your calendar.
To add Yahoo! IDs to your Friends List:
- Click the "Edit List" link next to "My Friends."
- Enter the friend's Yahoo! ID into the box.
- Select a calendar privilege from the pull-down menu:
View Only: Anyone on your Friends List can view your calendar.
View / Modify Events: Special Friends can view and modify your calendar. Special Friends
Yahoo! IDs are in green text with a star.
- Click the "Add Friend" button. You will then find the Yahoo! ID that you just added to the list.
- Click the "Save" button.
Please note that you only need to enter your friend's Yahoo! ID. You do not need to include the @yahoo.com. For SBC Yahoo! members, you will need to include their whole SBC Yahoo! ID (Member ID@sbcglobal.net). Below are the SBC email domains:
- ameritech.net
- flash.net
- nvbell.net
- pacbell.net
- prodigy.net
- sbcglobal.net
- snet.net
- swbell.net
- wans.net
There is currently no way to specify non-Yahoo! members for this list.
- Select a default event sharing option. There are three "Event Sharing" Options:
- Private: Others cannot see the event.
- Show as Busy: Others can see that an event is scheduled for the day, but there are no details.
- Public: Others can see the event details.
- Click the "Save" button. If you chose to share your calendar, you must activate the Yahoo! Calendar sharing feature by clicking the "Activate Sharing" button.
Always remember that Friends and Special Friends must sign in to their own Yahoo! accounts, using the IDs that are on your list, to view the shared calendar. Then, after being signed in to their own account, they can go to the Public URL for the calendar they wish to view.
Notes:
- After a calendar is made available to people to view it (Anyone can view my calendar), the event sharing must be marked as "Public" before events will show up on the public calendar. If an event is marked as "Private," it will not appear on the public calendar. If an event is marked as "Busy," people can see when the event is scheduled, but no details.
- If the event is marked as "Private" and "Friends can view my calendar; Special Friends can also modify my calendar" is selected, "Friends and Special Friends" will see "Busy" when they view your calendar.
- If the event is marked as "Busy" and "Friends can view my calendar; Special Friends can also modify my calendar" is selected, "Friends" can see "Busy" while "Special Friends" will see the event details.
