You can ignore Chat invitations:

1. Click the Messenger menu in Messenger and select Preferences.
2. Click the Chat category.
3. Enable Ignore chat invitations.
4. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Please Note: Uncheck the option to disable the feature.
