Can I create multiple accounts?

You can create multiple profiles on your account and use them with services such as Yahoo! Message Boards, Yahoo! Messenger, and Yahoo! Groups.

One account is sufficient for use throughout the entire Yahoo! network, so we do not recommend creating multiple accounts because of the difficulties associated with maintaining multiple IDs and passwords.

To use different identities within Yahoo!, you can add up to six profiles, or aliases. A profile consists of a name and some information that you show to other Yahoo! members. When you sign in to Yahoo!, you can choose any of your profiles.

To create a new profile, go to the Yahoo! Member Directory. Make sure you are signed in, then click "My Profiles." The next page will list your ID and all the profiles that you have already created. To make a new one, click the "Create New Public Profile" button near the top.

The only required field is the actual name—all other information is optional. You should not reveal any information on your profile that you wouldn't want a complete stranger to know (phone numbers, address, etc.).

When you're done, use the "Create Profile" button. This will take you back to your profile list, with the new name added. Make sure to use the "Finished Editing" link to save your changes.
