It’s the future (heck, even the present) of calling. The Call feature of Yahoo! Messenger lets you make calls over your Internet connection using a technology known as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). And when you’re calling computer-to-computer with other Yahoo! Messenger users, it’s free!

Before using Yahoo! Messenger Call, check that your computer's microphone and speakers (or headset) are set up properly by clicking Actions, then Call Setup.

Important: Calls to 117 or other emergency calling services are not available on Yahoo! Messenger. Please inform anyone using your Yahoo! Messenger that they must call 117 or other emergency calling services with a regular telephone or mobile phone.
