"Tags" are keywords or labels that you can add to the bookmarks you save to help organise them. Instead of organising bookmarks in the traditional single file folder structure, you can "tag" a bookmark with several labels.
Tagging is a new way to organise information. Tags can eliminate the need to remember where you saved a bookmark within a hierarchy of folders and sub-folders. You can give a bookmark several tags and search Yahoo!Xtra Bookmarks by any tag you remember to view bookmarks labeled with that tag.
A bookmark can have a multiple number of tags, so tag to your heart's content. Keep in mind that some categories of information lend themselves more naturally to multiple tags.
For example, if you're bookmarking all the sites you found to help plan your upcoming vacation to Hawaii, you could label the bookmarked sites with the following tags: hawaii, travel, and guide. And when you want to re-find that information, you can find it under any one or all of those tags.
When you've tagged and saved a bookmark, you can also view all the bookmarks saved with that tag by.
