How do I set up my POP client to check my Web Hosting email?

In order to use an email client to send and receive emails from your Web Hosting email account, you will first need to designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server in your POP client such as Microsoft Outlook.

If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you will need to change your current server settings. Write down your current settings first — you may need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.

Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo Personal Address:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo ID (your Yahoo Mail address without the "@yahoo.com")

Email address: you@yourdomain.com

Password: your Yahoo Mail password

Replace "you@yourdomain.com" above with your Web Hosting email address.

Please note that if you are using Microsoft Outlook, the Yahoo outgoing mail server will require authentication to properly send emails. To turn this setting on:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
  2. Select your Yahoo Web Hosting account and click "Properties."
  3. Select the "Servers" tab.
  4. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
  5. Click "OK."
