The Contact Search Bar is a new faster way to connect quickly with friends. Just type your friends' name, telephone number, nickname, or any other data that you have in the contact details in the text box above your Yahoo! Messenger List. As you type, matching results will populate. As more characters are entered, the list will condense down to help you locate the specific friend you are looking for. You can even type in a Yahoo! ID of a friend that is not on your list. If no contact details match what you are typing, Yahoo! Messenger assumes you are entering a Yahoo! ID that you have memorized. If this is the case, the two options are to instant message or initiate a PC-to-PC call with this person.
