Two versions of your profile exist on Yahoo!:

• A version that your connections see
• A version that the public sees

The first profile provides detailed information that you choose to expose. Only your Yahoo! connections can see this version of your profile. The second profile provides basic information, such as your display name, location, gender, and birthday, which allows other Yahoo! members to find you.

You update your detailed personal information, such as your photo, your blog, and your connections on your Yahoo! My Profile page. You update your basic information, such as your name, location, gender, and birthday, on your Yahoo! Account Info page.

Update Detailed Information for Your Connections

To update detailed information on your Yahoo! My Profile page:

1. Click Sign in from any Yahoo! page.
2. Type your Yahoo! ID and password, and click Sign In.
3. Click the down arrow next to your name as shown below, and select Profile.
   
   
   
   Your My Profile page appears. Note: Yahoo! might ask you for your password again before displaying this page. If so, enter your password, and click Sign In. You are then directed to the My Profile page.
   
   If you have created a profile, it appears as shown in the example below. If you have yet to create your profile on Yahoo!, you’ll have the chance to do so on the My Profile page.
   
   
4. To add a photo, click Add Your Photo. Then follow the instructions to find and upload the photo you want to appear in your profile.
5. To tell everyone what you’re doing now, type a description in place of the What are you doing now? text, and click Post.
6. To add connections, in the CONNECTIONS box, click Invite.
   
   
   
   The Invite to Connect dialog box appears.
   
   
7. Enter the email addresses of the connections to add, separating each address with a comma, and click SEND INVITE.
8. To share any updates you posted on other websites, such as Twitter, Picassa, YouTube, Last.fm, or Yelp, click the corresponding icon for that site, enter your username for that site, and click Add.
   
   
9. To create your own blog, in the MY BLOG box, click Write An Entry. Here’s where you express what’s on your mind. Write anything you like.
   
   
10. In the ABOUT ME box, click Add details now. Here is where you add details about your life that you want others to know about, such as where you went to school, what you do for work, what your hobbies are, and anything else you want to share.
    
    
    
    The Account Info Interests page appears. Whatever you enter here will appear on your profile page.

Update Basic Information

To update basic information about yourself on your Yahoo! Account Info page:

1. Click Sign in from any Yahoo! page.
2. Type your Yahoo! ID and password, and click Sign In.
3. Click the down arrow next to your name as shown below, and select Account Info.
   
   
4. The Account Info page appears. Note: Yahoo! might ask you for your password again before displaying this page. If so, enter your password, and click Sign In. You are then directed to the Account Info page.
   
   
5. Click Edit Profile. The Profile Basics page appears.
   
   
   
   On the Basics page, you can edit your name, display name (screen name), location, gender, and birthday. Notice the other categories on the right side of the Basics page: Relationships, Work, Schools, and Interests.
6. To edit other information about yourself, click the category you want to edit. For example, click Relationships to let other members know if you are single, dating, in a relationship, engaged, married, divorced, or in a complicated situation.
   
   
7. Enter the information you want others to see, and click Save when you’re done.
