Campaign Geo-Targeting

Use the Campaign Geo-Targeting page to target prospective customers in the geographic locations you support. By default, your geo-targeting preference is set to display ads to your entire market. If you prefer, you may target more specific regions such as a county or designated market area (DMA).

Targeting Your Entire Market

To target your entire market:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down arrow to the right of the Campaign Settings button.

  4. Select Geo-Targeting. The Campaign Geo-Targeting page opens.

  5. Set your geo-targeting preference to Entire Market.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Note: The market for your account was selected during signup. If your business spans multiple markets, you will need to create an account to support each market.

Targeting by County

To target prospective customers by county:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down arrow to the right of the Campaign Settings button.

  4. Select Geo-Targeting. The Campaign Geo-Targeting page opens.

  5. Set your geo-targeting preference to Specific Regions. The Target By dropdown list is displayed.

  6. Select Region. The list of regions within your market are listed below.

  7. Identify the regions you would like to target.

    • To target a specific set of regions, click the checkboxes next to the regions you would like to target.

    • To target all of the available regions, click the checkbox next to Regions within your market that appears at the top of the list.

  8. Click Save Changes to apply the targeted regions to your campaign.

Targeting by Region

To target prospective customers by region:

  1. Click the Campaigns tab. The Campaigns page opens.

  2. Identify a campaign and click its link. The Campaign Details page opens.

  3. Click the down arrow to the right of the Campaign Settings button.

  4. Select Geo-Targeting. The Campaign Geo-Targeting page opens.

  5. Set your geo-targeting preference to Specific Regions. The Target By dropdown menu is displayed.

  6. Select Region. The search panel appears below.

  7. Search for the regions you would like to target.

    • To search for areas within a particular region, select an option from the Region dropdown list.

    • To search for areas near a particular Postcode, enter the postcode and the number of miles radius around that postcode that you would like to search.

  8. Click the Search button. A list of areas appears below.

  9. Click the checkboxes that correspond to the areas you would like to target. The Map View panel displays the selected areas. The Targeted Regions panel displays a list of your selections.

  10. If you want to target additional areas in another region or near a different postcode, run the search again.

  11. Click Save Changes to apply the targeted regions to your campaign.

Note: Please note that geo-targeting accuracy is not guaranteed and may vary depending on the level of targeting selected, as well as other factors.

Content Match Discontinuation

Important: The Content Match product has been discontinued in your domestic market as of 31 March, 2009. Though the user interface may allow you to enter Content Match information, please note that your Content Match ads will no longer be served on web sites, and as such will no longer accrue impressions or click charges. Likewise, Content Match Options will be removed from our Advertiser Interface in coming releases. As you add or edit information in your account, you may wish to remove Content Match information in your Account, Campaigns, Ad Groups, or Keywords. Contact your Account Manager for additional details.
