Yahoo! Sync > TrueSync for Yahoo! Help

What does TrueSync mean by accessor, client, application, device and service?

Each of your Personal Information Managers (PIMs) is considered a "client" of the TrueSync application. The three types of clients are
  1. "Applications" are desktop programs, such as Microsoft Outlook and Palm Desktop
  2. "Devices" are handheld PIMs, such as the Palm Pilot or Windows CE products
  3. "Services" are online PIMs, such as those offered by Yahoo!.

For each PIM you want to synchronize, regardless of its type, you must install and setup an "accessor" to TrueSync. Accessors translate information from each PIM into a common format which TrueSync synchronizes. To synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, you must install the Outlook accessor.

Run the TrueSync Component Install program for a complete list of available accessors.
