What does the \"I'm Online Now!\" message mean?

The \"I'm Online Now! message lets you know if the person who owns the Profile is currently online. If they are, you can send them an instant message or go to them in Yahoo! Chat or Games.

Even if that person is not currently online, you can still send them a message that they will see the next time they go online.

When you are logged into Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Chat or Yahoo! Games, other Yahoo! users will see that message to let them know that you are available.

If you'd like to send instant messages and meet other Yahoo! members, get Yahoo! Messenger here.

If you don't want other people to know when you are online on Yahoo! Profiles, Yahoo! Personals, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Chat or Yahoo! Games, you can disable the online status feature at anytime. Here's how:

  • If you are not logged into Yahoo! Profiles, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Chat or Yahoo! Games, you first need to log in.
  • Go to the Edit Profiles Page
  • You should see a check box that says next to it, Check the box to hide my online status from other users.
  • Checking the box will hide your online status on web pages, but not if you are on another users friends list. If you leave the box unchecked, other people will know when you're online.
  • Make sure to click on the Finished Editing button when you're done.
  • Log back into Yahoo! Profiles, Yahoo! Personals, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Chat or Yahoo! Games to see your revised online status.
