To record a video greeting, you first need to create a personal profile. You will also need a webcam and microphone connected to your computer. (Make sure your webcam is supported by Yahoo! Personals.)
To add a video greeting to your personal profile:
- Sign in to Yahoo! Personals, then click on the "Add Video" link under your profile.
- On the next page, you will see simple instructions for recording a video greeting. Click "Continue" after you review the instructions.
- Decide what you want to say in your video greeting. You can jot notes down on the screen that will be available to you during the recording process. Remember, you have a total of 30 seconds for your greeting. Click "Continue."
- On the next page, you should see your webcam stream within the video window. If you do not, make sure your webcam is turned on and working properly.
- Press the "Record" (red circle) button on the streaming webcam window to record your greeting.
- Press the "Stop" (square) button when you are finished recording.
- Press the "Play" (triangle) button to preview your new video greeting. You can keep recording a new video greeting until you are satisfied.
- Press "Continue" when you are happy with your greeting and ready to submit it for review.
- You will receive an email in your Personals Mailbox with the status of your video greeting.
