• Click the Reply button to reply to the message. You'll then see a "Conversation Window." Type your response in the lower area.
• Click the Profile button to find out more about the person. This will launch a browser page where you'll see the person's Yahoo! profile.
• Click the Close button if you don't want to answer the message.
• Click the Ignore button if you don't want to receive any more instant messages from that person. Once you've ignored someone, they won't be able to send you any more instant messages until you remove them from your Ignore List.

If you'd like to keep your message window(s) always on top of any other programs you have running, click the Edit menu in the Messenger window and choose Preferences. Put a check in the box next to "Keep Yahoo! Messenger on top of all other applications" (Windows version only).

If you want the program that you're currently running to stay active when you receive an instant message, click the Edit menu in the Messenger window, choose Preferences, and then click the Messages tab. Put a check in the box next to "Stay in the program you are currently running" (Windows version only).
