Firewall Issues: Unable to Connect, or the Songs Stalls at Requesting Stream

If you are seeing this error, especially in a work environment, it may be related to a firewall or other installed virus protection software such as Norton Utilities.

If you are a home user, try disabling Norton Firewall or other firewall software then try your request again.

If you're connecting from work, ask your IT department to make sure the following ports are open to the respective protocols (or make sure that your firewall does not block the following):

port 80, http
port 443 https

In addition you will also need to allow calls to the '63.250.215.0 - '63.250.215.255' range of IP addresses, and the below URL domains:
  • *.launch.yahoo.com
  • *.yahoo.com
  • *.yimg.com
  • *.akamai.net
