Import Songs From an Audio CD

  1. Insert your music CD into the computer's CD drive.
  2. If multiple titles for this CD are available, you may be presented with a choice of titles. Select the one (if applicable) that's correct, or name it yourself where indicated.
  3. If this CD has only one possible title, it will appear in the left navigation pane. Click it.
  4. Switch to the center pane. Delete checkmarks next to any songs you do not want to copy.
  5. In the top pane, click the Import Checked Songs to My Music button.

The songs are copied from your CD to your computer and their names are added to My Music.

Note: If the CD you wish to import is not recognized by the Gracenote(tm) database (for example, if you burned it yourself or it's a very obscure title), you may be presented with a dialog asking you if you wish to submit the CD's information. This refers to sending data to Gracenote for new or unrecognized CDs. You may enter the names of the songs here, if they are not recognized (for more complete instructions on using the Gracenote MusicID(sm) service, click here.) Or, you can manually name the songs in My Music (and not submit the information to Gracenote) after you add them by right-clicking each song and highlighting Edit > Song Information ...
