Invisible Mode

Yahoo! Messenger has a new feature called Invisible Mode. If you log into Messenger in Invisible Mode, you won't appear as online to your friends (the little face next to your name will stay grey). This is useful if you just want to get email alerts, or check stocks, but not use the instant message features of Messenger. Even though you will appear to be offline, you can still send and receive messages as normal.

To log in as invisible, follow these steps:

Pull down the File Menu, then choose Change User/Login.
In the Login window that pops up, check the box next to Login under Invisible Mode.
Press the Login button at the bottom.

If you are already logged in and want to switch to Invisible Mode, click on Status at the bottom of the Messenger window, then choose Invisible.
