There are four ways to add a picture to your Yahoo! profile:

1. To upload a picture from your computer, click on the "Browse" button to choose the item to be uploaded. Locate what you want on your computer's hard drive, select it, and click on the "Open" button. If you can't find the file or photo, make sure you are not limiting the types of files shown in the "Browse" window. (To point to an item already on the Web, click on the "Or point to a file on the Web" link.)

Give your item a name and brief description, then click "Upload." There may be some delay or lag time while your item is being sent to us, depending on the size of the file and the speed of your Internet connection. (If you're linking to an online file, you will see "Add Link" at this stage.)

Note for Mac users: If you use a Macintosh computer, be sure to add a file extension to the name of the item before you click on "Upload." If your picture is a JPEG, add .jpg to the end of the name (e.g. a JPEG photo named "cowbell" would be renamed "cowbell.jpg"). If your file is a Microsoft Word document, add .doc to the end of the name.

2. To select a picture already in your Yahoo! Photo albums, click "Yahoo! Photos", then find the picture you'd like to use. Check the box next to the picture's name and click the "Select" button. The picture will be automatically uploaded to your Yahoo! profile.

3. If you want to use one of the pre-selected pictures (our cartoon avatar images) from our gallery, select the image you want by checking the radio button next to the picture you choose. Then, click "Change Picture."

4. To point to a picture on the web, insert the picture's URL in the box provided, then click "Add Link."
