How can I download a message?

To download a message, you must first open it on your screen. When you have it open, click the Download link near the top or bottom of your screen.

Your message will appear separated into its components, allowing you to save the text of the message separately from any attachments it may have.

To download a component:

  1. Right-click the Download link next to the desired component. (Macintosh users will need to click and hold rather than right-clicking.)
  2. Choose "Save Link As..." or "Save Target As..."
  3. A new window will open where you can save the component as a file. Be sure to make a note of the name and destination of the file so that you can find it later.
  4. Once you have finished downloading, click the "Back to normal view" link toward the top of the screen to return to the normal view of the message.

Currently, Yahoo! Mail does not provide a way to download the contents of an entire folder.

Please Note: All messages in your Yahoo! Mail account count toward your storage limit of 3 MB, even those you have downloaded. If you do not want a message to count toward your storage limit, you will need to delete it from your account.
