Why isn't java working?

  1. See our software recommendations. If you are using Internet Explorer on a Macintosh, you may need to use the HTML chat software.

  2. If you are behind a firewall, using WebTV or Windows 3.1, you will not be able to use the Java version of Chat. However, the HTML version should work for you. Just change the selection under \"Choose Software\" before pressing the Start Chatting button.

  3. Make sure that Java is enabled on your browser. Yahoo! Canada Chat requires Internet Explorer (version 3.01 or higher) or Netscape Navigator (version 2 or higher). Click on your browser for information on how to enable Java.
