The large majority of transactions that take place every day on Yahoo! Auctions are trouble-free. Unfortunately, however, there are occasional problems that users run into when dealing with strangers. Luckily, most of those problems can be easily resolved.
Yahoo! does not have any involvement in the transaction between the buyer and seller. Nor can Yahoo! control the other person's behavior. However, we have some suggestions we hope you will find helpful to resolve your dispute.
-
Try to Resolve Your Dispute Try to resolve your dispute by talking it out with the buyer or seller. Most problems are a result of a misunderstanding. Many times emails can be read the wrong way as many people are not used to communicating this way. Ask the other party for a phone number so that you may call them to discuss the issue.
-
Rate the Buyer or Seller The Yahoo! Auctions rating system is designed to remove fraudulent buyers and sellers once they acquire a negative rating. The rating system will only work with a member's active participation in rating someone. This is your tool to control who is a member of your auction community. Find out more about Yahoo! Arbitration Services If you feel the need to go to a third party for resolution, please keep in mind that Yahoo! is not a professional arbitrator and cannot offer those services.

Reporting Fraud If you are certain that mail fraud is involved (you have paid but not received your merchandise), file a complaint with your local postal service. Here are some other resources if you have questions concerning fraud:
Industry Canada - consumer information , consumer law and consumer protection
Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade
Better Business Bureau
By actively pursuing fraud you help to remove it from your auction's community.
