How do I uninstall BT NetProtect?

BT NetProtect consists of two products, ISS Black Ice and EZ Anti-virus, so you will need to uninstall each product separately. After finishing the uninstallation, immediately install Rogers Yahoo! Online Protection with Norton AntiVirus™. After that, cancel your NetProtect Billing. The rest of this answer provides procedures and information on doing these tasks.

To run the uninstaller program for ISS Black Ice from this page, follow these steps:

1. Click this link http://blackice.iss.net/update_center/BIRemove.exe to download the uninstallation program for Black Ice.
   A window opens, asking you to run or save the file.
2. Click Save.
   A Save As window opens.
3. Make sure the Desktop is selected in the Save As window.
4. Click Save.
   The file downloads, and a Download complete window opens.
5. Click Run.
   The removal program runs and removes Black Ice.

When Black Ice is removed, the uninstaller leaves two new notepad files. You do not need to open these files; instead, you can delete them.

If the method above is not preferred or workable, remove ISS Black Ice with the following steps:

1. Click start at the bottom left of the screen.
2. Click Run.
3. Click Browse.
4. Click the icon for your computer.
5. Double-click the icon for the computer's C: drive.
6. Double-click the following folder icons: Program Files, ISS, and Black Ice.
7. Double-click the icon for the file AgentRemove.exe.
8. Follow any directions for uninstalling Black Ice—for example, clicking OK in a message box.

If this method does not work, then repeat these steps in safe mode. To enter safe mode, restart the computer and press F8 during the boot sequence.

To uninstall EZ Anti-virus, use either of these step sequences:

Sequence using Etrust

1. Click start at the bottom left of the screen in the Windows Taskbar.
2. Click (All) Programs > Etrust Armour > Uninstall.
3. Follow any directions for uninstalling EZ Anti-virus software—for example, clicking OK in a message box.

Sequence using the Control Panel

1. Click Start at the lower left of your screen in the Windows Taskbar.
2. Choose Control Panel or, for Windows 98/Me/2000, Settings > Control Panel.
3. Click on Add or Remove Programs or, for Windows 98/Me/2000, Add/Remove.
4. Click EZ AV from the list of currently installed programs.
5. Click Remove or, for Windows 98/Me, Add/Remove.
6. Follow any directions for uninstalling EZ Anti-virus—for example, clicking OK in a message box.

After finishing uninstallation of Black Ice and EZ Anti-virus

Return to the Rogers Yahoo! Software Centre to install Rogers Yahoo! Online Protection with Norton AntiVirus. It is important that you do this immediately after removing BT NetProtect to make sure your computer is protected.
