How do I customize the settings for my child?

You customize each of the categories of permissions.

To do this for the web filter and other categories, do the following:

  1. Clcik Start > Programs > Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet > Rogers Yahoo! Online Protection. This opens the Rogers Yahoo! Online Protection dashboard.
  2. Click Parental Controls, and then click the Edit Settings link. This opens the browser to the settings summary.
  3. Click the name for whom you want to customize Parental Controls.
  4. Click Edit Settings opposite Web Filter.
  5. Under General Restrictions, click one of these: Block the following types of Web Sites, Use Yahooligans, or Only allow and restrict specific Web sites I choose. For the first and the last choice, there are further settings to configure.
  6. Under Application Restrictions, click Restrict all Internet Applications as needed.
  7. Click Save Settings.
  8. Click Edit Settings opposite Email.
  9. Click either the first option or, as needed, the remaining options, and then click Save Settings.
  10. Click Edit Settings opposite Messenger.
  11. Click either the first option or, as needed, the remaining options, and then click Save Settings.
  12. Click Edit Settings opposite Rogers Yahoo Services.
  13. Click the checkboxes as needed, and then click Save Settings.
  14. Click the link Back to Settings Summary, and repeat the procedure for the next subaccount as needed at step 3.

After you customize your child's access level, the word custom is added to it—for example, Kids - Custom—to confirm that you have modified the default access level for this child.

To protect your family with these features, you must create accounts for each member. Furthermore, you must install and activate a program on each PC used.
