Why do I see Mail Alerts for one user but Messenger contacts from another?

Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar displays the customized buttons associated with your Yahoo! ID when you're signed in to Yahoo!. This includes bookmarks, Rogers Yahoo! Messenger contacts, etc. However, the Messenger button reflects the Y! ID of your Rogers Yahoo! Messenger client, so signing in to Rogers Yahoo! Messenger with a different user will show the Contacts of that user under the Messenger button.

For example, if you sign in to Rogers Yahoo! Mail as John, you receive mail notification for John's Rogers Yahoo! Mail and John's contacts under the Messenger button in the toolbar. However, if you stay signed in to Rogers Yahoo! Mail as John, but then sign in to Rogers Yahoo! Messenger as Paul, you receive mail alerts in the Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar for John's Rogers Yahoo! Mail, but see Paul's contacts under the Messenger button in the toolbar.

We recommend that you sign in to Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar and Rogers Yahoo! Messenger with the same ID to avoid any confusion.

The Messenger button requires Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar 6.2 and newer for Internet Explorer, and Rogers Yahoo! Messenger 7.0 or newer. To check the version of your toolbar, select "About Yahoo! Toolbar" from the Pencil menu. To check the version of your Messenger client, select "About Yahoo! Messenger" from the Help menu.

If you have Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar 6.2 for Internet Explorer and Rogers Yahoo! Messenger installed, but don't have the Messenger button on your toolbar, you can add it to your Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar now (requires sign-in).
