Why do I keep getting "keyword" searches rather than going to my web page?

Rogers Yahoo! Toolbar and other Yahoo! products ask if you want to set your default search to Yahoo! when they are installed. You must have recently installed a Yahoo! product and agreed to set your default search to Yahoo!

By default, Mozilla Firefox is configured to do an "I Feel Lucky" search on Google whenever you type anything into the address bar of your browser that is not a valid web address. Rather than sending you to a web site, Yahoo! performs a web search when you type something in the address bar that is not a valid web address.

If you want to set your Mozilla Firefox browser back to the default behaviour, please do the following:

  1. Open a new browser window and type "about:config" in the address bar.
  2. Type "keyword" into the "Filter" field.
  3. Double-click the "keyword.URL" line to open a dialogue box to change the setting.
  4. Copy "http://www.google.com/search?btnI=I%27m+Feeling+Lucky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=" and paste it into the dialogue.
  5. Click "OK".

Your keyword search has been reset to the default. For more information on Mozilla Firefox, see the Mozilla Firefox FAQ.
