Why are some plug-ins showing up in a pop-up menu?

If you add a new plug-in and you don’t have any room left, the last plug-in in your list (the one at the bottom of the screen) will be moved into an overflow menu. Plug-ins in the overflow menu are still running, and you can access them by clicking the double-arrow overflow button (to the right of the “+ Plug-ins” button) and selecting the one you want.
