How do I point my web site to a different page?

When you sign up with Rogers Yahoo! Personal Address, we automatically redirect your web address to your free Rogers Yahoo! GeoCities web site. The Web Address Forwarding tool lets you point your web address to another home page or web site.

Here's an example of this:
http://www.your-name.com
points to
http://www.geocities.com/yourname

When someone types the URL of a forwarded web address, it goes to a server where a script redirects the user to the actual URL that hosts your web pages. The web address won't stay in the browser's address window, since it isn't directly linked to the URL you're actually pointing to. This is handy whether you're hosting your web site on a home page service like Yahoo! GeoCities or on your local ISP's server.

If you already have a web site, you can redirect your Personal Address so that it points to your existing site. Simply:

  1. Click "Options" in the upper-right corner of your Rogers Yahoo! Mail page.
  2. Click "Mail Upgrades" in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click the "Manage Service" link.
  4. Click the "Web Address Management" link.
  5. Your web address appears along with the URL it's currently forwarding to. Click "Edit."
  6. Type the URL that you wish to redirect your domain to.
  7. Click "Submit" to save your changes.
