I configured my account to POP GMail into my Rogers Yahoo! Mail account, but some messages are missing. Why?

The POP preferences pane in Gmail does allow for downloading all messages -- however, it only remails all until that download is complete, then resets itself to new messages only. In this mode, after a message has been retrieved from the Gmail POP server, it will be hidden from further access in the future.

So, the "All messages" setting will not work correctly with GMail. Only new messages will be downloaded.

If two email clients are configured to check mail in the same Gmail account, and client 1 downloads message A, client 2 will never be told about message A. In effect, each client will be told about each message only once.

This would also explain why, if you POP your GMail account into your Rogers Yahoo! Mail account and your phone, there could be different messages in both places.
