How do I insert emoticons – you know, all the different “smiley-face” expressions?

Just above the window where you type your chat messages, you’ll see a smiley-face icon (wearing sunglasses) on the far right of the toolbar. Click it to reveal a menu stuffed with tons of expressive options, and click the one you fancy.
