What are headers, and what are my header viewing options? |
Headers contain the basic To/From information in an email. You can choose "Compact" or "Standard" Headers by clicking the link in the header section.
The "Compact Header" takes up the least amount of space. Compact headers include Subject, To, and From fields for an email. In addition to this basic info, the "Standard Header" also includes the date and time a message was received.
Full email headers contain a record of the delivery route taken by an email. A full header has tons of information you'd probably never be interested in seeing, and every message you receive has one. If you want to see a full header, click the Header link in the header section above an email—where it either says "Compact Header" or "Standard Header." If you select "Full Header" from the pull-down menu, you'll see what a full header looks like. There's so much information that it opens in a separate window.
