Yes, unfortunately this is possible. To prevent it from happening, when you exit your account you should sign out completely, close the browser, and clear the cache.

To log out completely, click the "Sign Out" link located at the top of the page, just below where it says, "Welcome, yourname."

It's especially important to do this if you use a public or shared computer.

Note: If you're signed in to an email session that lasts longer than eight hours, you'll be asked to re-enter your password.
