How do I collect my mail with Eudora 5.1 or higher?

Want to "POP" your Rogers Yahoo! Mail into Eudora 5.1 or higher? Here's how:

  1. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Personalities."
  2. Right-click in the "Personalities" box (on the left of the screen) and select "New."
  3. The New Account Wizard takes you through the set up.
  4. Use the following settings:
    • Personality Name: Rogers Yahoo! Mail.
    • Account Settings: Select "Create a new account."
    • Personal Information: Enter your name.
    • Email Address: Enter your Rogers Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@rogers.com).
    • Login Name: Enter your Rogers Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@rogers.com").
    • Incoming Email Server: Type "pop.broadband.rogers.com" and make sure that "POP" is selected at the bottom.
    • Outgoing Email Server: Type "smtp.broadband.rogers.com."
    • Check the box next to "Allow authentication."
  5. Click the "Finish" button when you're…finished!
  6. Right-click on the personality you created and select “Properties”
  7. Click the “Incoming Mail” tab.
  8. In the Secure Sockets when Receiving” area, ensure the “Required, Alternate Port” option is not selected from the drop-down menu.
  9. Click “OK”

To control deletion of messages from the Rogers Yahoo! Mail server, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Options."
  2. Click the picture on the left that says "Incoming Mail."
  3. Check "Delete from server after…" if you want your messages to be deleted from the Rogers Yahoo! Mail server after you've received them in Eudora. Do not check this box if you want to save your Rogers Yahoo! Mail messages on the Rogers Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer.
