How do I switch to a different registrar or hosting service?

According to ICANN policy, we are unable to release a domain name within 60 days of registration.

Prior to 60 days

If you would like to redelegate your domain within 60 days of registration, you must first cancel your Personal Address service and then sign up for Rogers Yahoo! Domains. Rogers Yahoo! Domains allows you to modify your name servers in order to point to your new host. When you have signed up for Rogers Yahoo! Domains, you can redelegate your name servers by following the directions on this help section.

After 60 days

After the 60-day period has been completed and if you still would like to transfer registration to another registrar, you do not need permission from Rogers Yahoo!. Your new domain name registrar should have the authority to initiate a domain name transfer with your permission. Please verify that your new registrar has the ability to do so.

If it has been longer than 60 days, and you want to manage your domain directly with Melbourne IT, please click the "No" button on the bottom of this page and provide us with the following verification information:

  • Web address (domain name)
  • Your Yahoo! ID
  • Your date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy format)
  • Your ZIP code
  • The last four digits of the credit card used to pay for the account

Note: When we've verified your account, you'll be removed from our reseller account. The registry key automatically changes and is emailed to the customer by Melbourne IT. The recipient should receive it at the email address listed on the WHOIS as the administrative contact. When you have been removed from our reseller account, Yahoo! is no longer responsible for renewing your domain.
