How do I receive messages sent to my disposable addresses?

Messages sent to your disposable addresses are delivered to your Inbox, just like emails sent to your regular email address. This way you get to see them, but the sender doesn't get to know your real address.

Incoming messages are filtered by Rogers SpamGuard, so spam goes to your Spam folder.

If you want, you can choose a different folder instead of your Inbox to get messages for a disposable address. Set this up when you create the address (by entering one of your folders in the "Deliver to:" field), or at any other time by going to the Options page and clicking AddressGuard (in the "Spam" column). You'll see a list of all your disposable addresses. Select the one you want and click Edit. Then you can make the following changes:

  • Deliver to: You can choose a personal folder where you want to direct all messages sent to this disposable address. For example, if it's a disposable address you set up to handle your auction correspondence, you could send those messages to a folder called "Auctions."
  • Use filters: If this option is checked (default), your personal filters are applied to the messages before they are delivered.
  • Use Rogers SpamGuard: If this option is checked (default), all messages sent to your disposable address are filtered by SpamGuard, which sends spam to the Spam folder. If you want to receive all messages sent to this disposable address in the folder you specified, regardless of their nature, then un-check this option.
  • Notes: Notes help you remember the purpose of this disposable address. For example, you can record which site you created it for.

Note: When "Use filters" and "Use Rogers SpamGuard" options are both checked, Rogers SpamGuard processes messages first and sends any spam to your Spam folder. Then your filters sort non-spam messages into folders.
